Police said they were aware of cocaine being laced with benzos and fentanyl being sold without the consumer's knowledge. Since Wednesday, Jan. 25, eight people have overdosed on these mixtures.

"Based on our professional experiences, fentanyl is now in all different types of substances, whether that be cocaine, methamphetamine, fake pills, or vape cartridges," Milford police said in a news release.

They asked residents to assume all substances not provided by a doctor are laced with the drug and could be potentially harmful or even fatal.

Anyone who needs help can contact the Milford Police Family Service Unit or detectives at 508-473-1113. Or they can contact Chris' Corner Recovery Resource Center at 12 Main St. or call 508-552-8080.
